The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame yesterday revealed its 2013 inductees. From a slate of 15 finalists announced last month, the hall’s committee whittled the list to a mere six performers: Heart, Albert King, Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Rush and Donna Summer. Surprisingly, the groundbreaking electronic-music foursome Kraftwerk and disco-production pioneers Chic did not make the cut; nor did rock acts Deep Purple, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts or Procol Harum.
