So this ad aired during the Super Bowl and also stars football’s Joe Namath, so ostensibly it’s about sports, a play on how guys on the gridiron get creamed by tackles and how it’s important to have good hands in order to make catches. But…let’s get real. Fawcett—who died in 2009—was already acting steadily three years before Charlie’s Angels came on the air and she would have been a familiar beautiful face, someone who indicated sexiness. And there is definitely something here that’s about sex. We’re not quite sure what, but let’s just say we know it when we see it.
