I’ve run from the authorities a lot, especially in France, but I’ve found that a vintage Austin Mini Cooper is quite a resourceful little vehicle. With such a small car, you aren’t limited to the regular street lanes that regular police cars must travel. Sure, we all know a Mini can hop the curb and go on the sidewalk or fly down back cobblestoned alleys, but keep in mind that they scale stairs—with just a little “bump,” really. If a Mini isn’t available, I’ve found that other well-known vehicles, such as taxi cabs and police cars, provide plenty of durable getaway options. Both of those makes can handle more than their fair share of scrapes with guardrails, cars and tunnel walls.
