Tom Cruise has long been a father, but the modern media has grown fascinated watching the way he and Katie Holmes (sometimes together, but more often apart) parent young Suri, even as Cruise has taken primary parenting duties of his two older children, now 19 and 17. Of course, the fact that the 6-year-old Suri’s every outfit gets dissected by the world—and some take plenty of work to dissect—doesn’t help the former mega-family fly under the radar. Popular fashion opinion man Tim Gunn certainly isn’t a fan of what Suri’s parents have put her through. “Suri is, she’s her mother and father’s dress up doll and I feel in many ways she’s a fashion victim and it’s just very inappropriate. I think it’s unsafe too. She’s a little kid and (she’s) tottering around on these stilettos or quasi-stilettos,” Gunn has said.
