Winslet, now 36, retreated into independent projects after the Titanic’s publicity storm. But she continued to earn accolades for her work in such films as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Little Children and Revolutionary Road. She’s the youngest actor to accrue six Academy Award nominations, winning once for The Reader. She also won an Emmy for her role as Mildred Pierce in the mini-series of the same name. Twice-divorced (from directors Jim Threapleton and Sam Mendes), Winslet has two children.
