As disco music gained momentum in the 1970s, Franklin's popularity began to decline. She started a comeback in 1980, when she appeared in the film The Blues Brothers. Clive Davis signed Franklin to Arista Records soon after, where she released another set of hits. In 1987, Franklin became the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
