At the Atlantic Records studios in New York City, Aretha Franklin holds a copy of her Soul '69 album on January 9, 1969. In her first decade under the label, Franklin recorded some of her most iconic songs, including “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “Chain of Fools,” her rendition of “I Say a Little Prayer” and “Respect.”
