Low is not an easy album, and “Sound and Vision” is probably the closest it gets to a pop song, though even that is complicated by its structure. It’s primarily instrumental, and by the time the vocals kick in, the track is well on its way to ending. That it happens to do so on a guitar part that is blissful to listen to — simply one of the most beautiful and joyous of any Bowie song — makes one wonder if words were needed at all.
