There hasn’t been a whole lot of info following the November 2 release of the GTA V trailer, but we do know this much: the story will take place in the L.A.-ish metropolis of Los Santos (one of the three burghs featured in 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas) and will follow “a young woman’s sometimes sad but often comic attempts at finding true love in the big city.” Ha! We kid! In fact, the game has as its grand theme “the pursuit of the Almighty Dollar in a re-imagined, present-day Southern California” — with such pursuits undoubtedly showcasing a dazzling spectrum of criminality. There’s absolutely no reason to think this game won’t offer the super-polished thrills of previous GTA offerings, not the least of which are found in exploring the obscure corners of these huge open-sandbox worlds. Unless you have the misfortune of playing with that annoying kind of non-gamer (like certain friends of ours) who find perverse delight in carjacking ice-cream trucks and driving them off piers.
