IN WHICH OUR INTREPID HERO MUST…
Lead a resistance against an invading enemy force and square off against an old friend in a final showdown.
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT:
Its sprite-based graphics may have seemed quaint or dated next to the computer-generated polygons found in games like Final Fantasy VII, but Suikoden II presented a deep and compelling story — one that requires the finding of no less than 108 runes — with enough intrigue and betrayals to keep things exciting. An easy-to-understand fight system allowed players to manage three levels of combat, from one-on-one duels to warring armies on the field of battle.
DID YOU KNOW?
The game did not sell well enough to go into a second production run. Used copies can fetch more than $100 on eBay.
