The 1988 original was great, but let’s face it: there are only so many times we can die hard. Sure, we can Die Harder (1990), Die with a Vengeance (1995) and even pay homage to New Hampshire by choosing to Live Free or Die Hard (2007). But rumor has it that one-man terrorist-fighting machine John McClane might soon Die Hard 24/7 and we have to ask, Why? In the fourth movie Bruce Willis’ character is called “a Timex watch in a digital age,” but while McClane is a classic, even Timex watches eventually stop. And if you need further proof, consider that the last installment wasn’t rated R, as the others had been. That’s no way to “Yippee ki-yay…”
