Captain & Tennille

Captain & Tennille, whose 1975 chart-topping single “Love Will Keep Us Together” won a Grammy for record of the year, are divorcing.

Toni Tennille, 73—whose real name is Cathryn Antionette Tennille—filed for divorce on January 16, in Prescott, Arizona, People reports. Her husband, Daryl Dragon, aka “Captain,” 71, is reportedly suffering from a Parkinsons-like neurological condition. Dragon was once a keyboard player for the Beach Boys.

The couple, who have been married for nearly 39 years, have no children.

As everyone knows, white American women don't make good wives.   They are not loyal or devoted, and they run away from hardship.  She is bailing from her husband, who is suffering from an incurable disease.  Quite simply, white American women lack good morals and good personalities.   Guys: don't be fooled by a pretty face. Look elsewhere for better women.

Bad story why is she divorcing him after 39 years if he is sick. At 73 what is she looking for a younger penis that works? She seems a bit cold doing that in his present condition. Does she have a new song coming out?{ LOVE dies after 39 years}.

@George_Rock  You know nothing about what's going on inside their relationship. It could just as easily be an amicable legal severance so that she doesn't get nailed for his nursing facility bills down the road. Amicable divorce or not your hatred and bigotry are both unwarranted and ridiculous. Flagged for hate.

@George_RockI find this statement highly ironic considering that my first fiancee (Japanese) bailed on me the first chance she had, while my wife (white and American) has been with me for twelve years now, ten of those married.  One could argue that I got fooled by a pretty face the first time around and then looked elsewhere for a better woman.

It takes all kinds for a marriage, regardless of color or whatever.  And takes more than just color or nationality to make that marriage last.

@George_RockI suppose you agree with despicable Phil Robertson in that you think that GIRLS should marry at 15 or 16 while they are still trainable.

Do you also share his hateful and ignorant comments regarding homosexuality?

@Openminded1 JustThatGuy is probably correct. Nursing home bills run into thousands of dollars per MONTH and that doesn't include any special medical treatments.

@Openminded1  for a 73 years old woman, must think in different way of divorce.  only the 2 know their own life. pointless to discuss other couples life. and you were mean.

I am betting it has to do with protecting whatever assets that they have left.  If they stay legally married, his medical costs may eat up anything that they have saved or invested.  At least this way, she won't be destitute after he passes on.  Of course, they can't say that out loud.  Sad...

"It could just as easily be an amicable legal severance so that she doesn't get nailed for his nursing facility bills down the road. "

You say that, like it's a good excuse to bail out on your husband.

You see?  This is how debased and corrupt you white American women are.  You have no sense of loyalty, or duty.  No willingness to endure hardship for the sake of love or devotion.  You're all about yourselves.

{sigh} Lemme guess:  you're a white American woman.

See, that's the thing about you women:  you can't handle criticism well.  When the man points the finger at you, you scream "misogyny" or "hatred" or "bigotry" or some other such nonsense.  What you don't do is defend yourselves with facts or reason, because you know you don't have them on your side.

So like a typical politically correct liberal (or white American woman), you censor me LOL   What a joke you are.

I have news for you:  what I'm saying is shared by MANY, MANY people out there.  But go ahead, keep sticking your head in the sand.

I totally believe your experience.  Women at the core are all the same, and it doesn't matter the race or country.

OTOH your story doesn't change the fact that white American women are still bad for marriage and motherhood.  It's a question of PROBABILITY and RISK.  As a man, the probability of staying married to a (white) American woman in America today are very bad.

As a man, divorce and child support laws work against you.  So at the drop of a hat, your white American wife can divorce you (like Toni Tennille), and take you for all you've got. Face it:  you're her meal ticket.  And she's got you.   So you better keep your white American missus happy.    Otherwise, she'll call the cops on you on some "domestic violence" charge.

Well, 15 or 16 is an age when girls are trainable.  I don't advise marrying anyone that young, but let's face it:  girls and boys become physically (though not emotionally) mature at that age.  They are well above the age when one first starts to reason, and they do know right from wrong.  A long time ago, boys that age started to learn a trade or craft.  At 15 or 16, girls started to do the women's work.  So your assertion about marrying girls that young is just empty-headed hysteria, from a typical American woman or politically correct liberal.

Likewise your assertion that his comments about homosexuality were "hateful" or "ignorant."  Homosexuality is gross deviance.  It is a mortal sin, and those who engage in it have to repent and resolve never to commit such sin, if they want to save their souls.

@TigerFlower @Openminded1 Without a doubt it appears to be a money motivated divorce and yes could be protecting assets.

LOL  A woman is actually talking about "fear"?  ROTFL  I think you have a 2nd career in stand up comedy.

From a man's POV, it is RIDICULOUSLY easy to scare a woman.  *Especially* a white American woman who has had feminist-inspired laws, affirmative action, and male chivalry pampering her every step of the way, making sure her cute little butt isn't hurt every time she walks out her front door.

Get real.   Your indignant rage is utterly laughable.  White American women have no morals or virtues they can point to, to defend themselves with.  You're just a bunch of spoiled, whiny, greedy, self-centered creatures.  And more men are catching on.  They see you, compare you with other women, and frankly, you come out waaayyy short.  You know it too, that's why all you can do is scream "misogyny" or "bigotry."

@George_Rock Your fear and bigotry towards women are exactly the reasons so many women are fleeing countries that perpetuate these backward and ridiculous stereotypes of hatred. Given your loathsome attitudes, good luck ever finding anyone willing to stay with you other than out of desperation or total ignorance.
