The official theatrical trailer for Veronica Mars debuted on E! News Thursday night, preparing fans for the film’s much-anticipated March 14 release. The film — which was crowd-funded by fans through Kickstarter — is based on the television series of the same name, which aired from 2004 to 2007. The big screen revival also sees the return of Kristen Bell as the titular detective-turned-New York attorney, along with much of the original cast (Leighton Meester, who played Carrie Bishop in the series, has been replaced by singer Andrea Estella).
While previous teaser trailers hinted at the love triangle between Veronica, her boyfriend Piz (played by Chris Lowell) and her old friend Logan (played by Jason Dohring), the new two-minute trailer reveals more details about Veronica’s new life and the film’s plot. Even better, there are also plenty of one-liners, a mean right-hook and a Jamie Lee Curtis cameo.
