The flop comes on the heels of the 19-year-old's cryptic announcement about his extremely early retirement

One day after Justin Bieber tweeted that he was “officially retiring” from the music business, a documentary about the work-weary 19-year-old landed in theaters with a thud.

Justin Bieber’s Believe opened on Christmas Day with $1.25 million in sales, ranking 14th at the box office, according to the Wall Street Journal. His previous concert film, Never Say Never, made $12 million on its opening day.

The troubled release comes after the singer cryptically tweeted about his retirement, which was followed moments later by a cryptic reassurance that he would be “here forever.”

It will be a great year in 2014 if we don't have to read anything about Bieber, Kim K, Mylie, etc.

Luving der Freeking Beebs! In 2039 when he's playing for tips in local dives,  still crooning for 'tweeners with a beer belly and a face full o' STD cankers, he'll still be 'Our Little Beebs!" And all his current little lovers will have sad memories of a youth wasted on...well, people who turned out to be such losers like this haircut that passes for a human.

Miley Cyrus is just a puppet. She is controlled by egomaniac designer Marc Jacobs. He is a cruel manipulator who has a great influence on stars like Lady Gaga, Kanye West. Jacobs is responsible for Miley's shocking new image. Read the truth on: http://styleangelique.blogspot.dk/

That sweet little thing is retiring?  Upon my word, Mabel, will wonders never cease?  Do you suppose his neighbors will be safe now when he goes out terrorizing the neighborhood in his new Ferrari?  Time to take the money and run, Justin.  If you stay too long, you could turn into a type of Miley...

Teen idols come and go - always have, always will. Most of them don't have careers amounting to much after 3 or 4 years in the spotlight. Unfortunately for Bieber he stopped listening to the advice of his handlers and has garnished a rather impression portfolio of negative press (urinating in a mop bucket in a restaurant, neighborhood speeding in his high priced car, underage drinking, partying with prostitutes, etc.) that make him less attractive to the age group that make up are his core supporter. Little girls grow up and, when they do, they outgrow their fantasy crushes. It was a nice run but all of the marketing propaganda (bio movies and such) cannot sustain a career of a marginal talent if the artist isn't willing to put forth the effort necessary to grow as both a person and performer. His next CD, if not a smash, could be his last.

I can't believe all of these negative comments that I'm seeing. His movie was amazing and after watching it I've realized he's actually a very caring person. He's only nineteen and is trying to be the best person he can be. Leave him alone!

This movie is nothing but propaganda and damage control.  It is all about what a great guy he is supposed to be.  His weak attempt at facial hair looks like smudged poo...

Welcome to adulthood, Justin. 'Forever' is for naive children. Give yourself a life in your retirement, and don't let the money destroy you. Because it usually does.

(And the twits can only reply..."ooh, hater! Hater!" Which is the twits' reply when they cannot determine the difference between quality and crap.)

@paulettejordan14 Paulette, it may surprise you to see that there are adults left in the world who are not particularly wowed by the Biebster.  We have seen this kind of phenomenon come and go.  He needs some time away to grow a bit:  like a decade, maybe.  When he has realized what life is really trying to teach him, perhaps he can behave more authentically and responsibly.  That doesn't mean he will be boring, unless he stays the same as he is now.

Young Kal..... There's more pics of Justin on heaven and Earth than are known in your narrow experience.

The tattoos, the boy face, the attitude and the reality all served to make his moustache look perfect, hit the circus clown look perfevtly

Kal - most adults try not to act like such an as*hole.... We pay our dues

Something yourself, Bieber and every kid out there NEEDS to know... This world, this society is not there to serve you.... For every time you all say 'it's my right to act like this' there is an expectation to live up to your responsibilities to earn those rights, it's not a given

So YOUNG justin needs to put some time and effort into his character or at the very most he'll barely be another Donnie Osmond.... Bought out for B-list special occasions with no real star of his own

Remember this Kal and Paulette, in another ten yrs you'll be cringing at yourself, I assure you, we all have been there
