It may be “crazy,” but Gnarls Barkley is getting back together.

The Grammy-winning musical duo that introduced the world to The Voice judge Cee-Lo Green and producer/DJ Danger Mouse is set to reunite in 2014, according to Green in a video released by TMZ Sunday. In the clip, Green is asked when Gnarls Barkley is going to get back together and Green says, “Yeah, next year.”

Gnarls Barkley released two full-length albums of their soul/alternative rock hybrid tunes and their song “Crazy” topped the charts around the world. The band’s debut album, St. Elsewhere, picked up the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2007, and they released a well-received 2008 follow-up called The Odd Couple.

While both Danger Mouse and Green are busy — Green with The Voice, his solo career anchored by hit “Forget You,” and recent Goodie Mob work and Danger Mouse with his Broken Bells collaboration with The Shins’ James Mercer — Green has frequently hinted that the duo would get back together. “We’ll definitely get together sometime very soon to start talks about what we collectively agree is the new direction for Gnarls Barkley,” he said in a 2011 interview with Rolling Stone. “We talk on occasion and he’s about as preoccupied as I am at the moment, doing other projects. But then again, we might not talk at all and just do it when the time is right because we’ve never discussed it before.”

Green may be looking for some good press after his recent run-in with the law, where he was accused of giving a woman ecstasy.
