The politically charged world of the National Rifle Association will be stage of a new serialized drama in development at the Sundance Channel. (The title of the series, of course, is taken from a slogan popular with NRA members who say it’s from where you’ll ultimately have to pry their guns).
According to Deadline, the series (written by journalist Scott Gold) will follow the tumultuous life (at home and on the national stage) of fictional NRA head Trip Thibodeaux — who we’re guessing will be modeled after real-life NRA executive vice-president Wayne LaPierre.
Krantz told Deadline:
“The debate over gun violence and gun rights has many sides, and in order to help protect lives, promote gun safety and build a national consensus on the issues, we want to respect and understand all sides of the story.”
