Phil Robertson in Hawaii on 'Duck Dynasty'

The star of A&E’s hit reality show Duck Dynasty was suspended from the show Wednesday after making anti-gay statements in an interview with GQ, the network said.

Phil Robertson was placed “under hiatus from filming indefinitely” A&E said in a statement Wednesday according to Deadline. “His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supports and champions of the LGBT community,” the statement said.

In an interview published Wednesday, Robertson repeatedly suggested homosexuality was sinful and at one point grouped gay people with terrorists.

“We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job,” he said, adding, “We just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ’em out later, you see what I’m saying?”
