Tom Cruise stars in Edge of Tomorrow as a soldier reliving the same day of a war with aliens, trying to figure out a way to win. Emily Blunt is a soldier in a similar situation.
But the story won’t be familiar to just Groundhog Day fans: it’s based on the Japanese novel All You Need Is Kill, by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. It is not, however, connected in any way to Saved by the Bell: The College Years. (That knowledge will be particularly helpful, since the trailer doesn’t really communicate much about the movie, other than the fact that there’s a war and explosions and serious music.) Bill Paxton and Jeremy Piven also star.
Edge of Tomorrow is due in theaters June 6, 2014.
