The 2012 action flick Jack Reacher is getting a sequel. Tom Cruise is developing the sequel to the first film, where he starred as the eponymous hero, a burly former military police officer-turned-drifter, Deadline reports.
The first film was an adaptation of the 2005 book One Shot, which is one of many in author Lee Child’s best-selling series about Reacher. The next film will be based on Child’s most recent book, Never Go Back.
The first film made $80 million in the U.S. but, despite middling reviews, managed to take in $218 million around the world.
