Troubled former child star Amanda Bynes was released from a treatment center on Thursday after being placed on involuntary psychiatric hold four months ago. The 27-year-old is currently in her parent’s custody and, according to Tamar Arminak, her mother’s lawyer, Bynes is receiving outpatient care several times a week.

“She is excited to be home with her family during the holidays and especially happy to re-establish a loving relationship with her parents,” Arminak told CNN. “Although she is focusing on her health at the moment, she is looking forward to attending school at some point and perhaps even studying fashion design.”

Her release comes toward the end of what has been a turbulent year for the actress. She has been charged with a DUI as well as three misdemeanors as the result of her allegedly throwing a marijuana bong out of a window in Manhattan. Bynes was detained in July after allegedly starting a fire in a stranger’s driveway in California.
