Katie Couric is negotiating an exit package and close to finalizing a deal to join Yahoo, according to unnamed sources from Yahoo.
Couric will likely join Yahoo as “Global News Anchor,” in a deal to be announced Monday, All Things D reported Saturday.
Couric’s web shows, interviews with high-profile figures, will be featured on Yahoo’s homepage. The newswoman joined ABC less than three years ago with a $40 million deal to host her daytime talk show, Katie, for two seasons and join ABC News for three years.
Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer reportedly recruited Couric personally to the web brand.
