There’s more than just (PG-13) violence in the upcoming Hunger Games: Catching Fire. There’s nudity too.
“We’re very faithful to the adaptation, so in the elevator I did have to pretty much almost take everything off,” Jena Malone said on a Catching Fire special on MTV Sunday. Malone plays Johanna Mason, one of the tributes competing against Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) in the 75th Annual Hunger Games. In the book (and the movie), Johanna strips herself bare in an elevator in front of Katniss, Peeta and their mentor, Haymitch (Woody Harrelson).
“Unfortunately, there was a part of the wardrobe that I couldn’t take off,” says Malone, without disclosing what remains covered. Malone’s co-star Sam Claflin (who plays another tribute, Finnick in the movie) described Malone’s character as “unpredictable” and “sexually violent” in the special.
