Lady Gaga has earned her applause. The pop star’s appearance as the host and musical guest on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live garnered the show its highest overnight ratings of the season.

In what was her first time hosting the show, Gaga clearly nailed it, as, according to Variety, the Nov. 16 broadcast had “a 4.9 household rating/12 share,” which made it the night’s top rated program. Not only was the episode the highest-rated show of the evening, it was SNL‘s highest overnight rated episode of the season. Variety reports that SNL “hasn’t done a higher overnight score since the March 9 episode featuring Justin Timberlake as host and musical guest. That installment of ‘SNL’ ended up averaging 8.4 million total viewers in the nationals, so this episode figures to be in that ballpark.”

Just among the 18-49 age demographic, Gaga’s ratings matched that of Miley Cyrus’s, from the former Disney star’s Oct. 5 appearance on SNL.
