Simon & Schuster’s Children’s Publishing has bought the rights to release a picture book based on the viral video “The Fox (What Does The Fox Say?),” according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Norwegian comedy duo Ylvis, whose members are brothers Bard and Vegard Ylvisaker, released the video on Sept. 3, and it quickly went viral. Not only has the song made it into the top 10 on the Billboard 100 for three weeks straight, the YouTube video has also been viewed more than 200 million times. Though several of those views came from Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing president Jon Anderson, who admitted, “I cannot tell you how many times I’ve watched Ylvis’ hilarious, mesmerizing, unforgettable ‘The Fox.’”
The book-version of “The Fox” will be out on December 10.
