New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, speaks at the reopening ceremony for the Little Egg Harbor Township community center on the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy in Little Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, October 29, 2013.

After breezing through his re-election campaign to win another term as New Jersey’s governor this week, Chris Christie appeared on the NBC sitcom “The Michael J. Fox Show” Thursday night — supposedly to make a special announcement.

Fox’s talk-show character, Mike Henry, interviewed the governor but fell asleep just before Christie was to let the cat out of the bag. After waking up, Henry moved to a different topic, thwarting Christie’s attempt to make his highly anticipated declaration.

The skit poked fun at the enormous amount of speculation coming from political analysts (and real-life talk show hosts) about whether the governor will decide to run in the 2016 Republican presidential primary.
