Watch Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley Rip Obamacare Apart at the CMAs

"Hey do you have that Obamacare? Oh, it's great. I started signing up last Thursday, and I’m almost done.”

Country stars Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley mocked Obamacare (in song, of course) during their opening act at the Country Music Awards on Wednesday night, to thunderous laughter from the audience.

After “twerking” his back, Paisley is led through the user-friendly sign up process that registered a whole six people on its first day.

“Oh it’s great,” Underwood gushes. “I started signing up last Thursday, and I’m almost done!”

The people who continue to support Obamacare are ignorant.  You may have a 'better' healthcare plan now... but at what cost to the general welfare?  Or.... do you not care about the general welfare of America as long as you get what you want?  And the rest of the comments that are filled with the typical liberal drivel about being 'rich' or 'racists'... all I can say is that you're obviously married to your Liberal religion to the exclusion of all critical thinking.  Hmmm.. why are Californians moving to Texas??

Not very talented or innovative besides tasteless and classless, of course what  you expect from redneck Okies. I have lost all respect for these bozos! Don't ask if they care, like most idiot republicans who make fast money in the music business they don't give a dam for who made them wealthy, they got there and that's all that counts to them.

boy that took a lot of brains to come up with. And I can just tell they and everyone in the audience are really worried about their health insurance. And really deeply care about people who don't have it.

Very glad for rfalcon1000 and for his very generous sense of humor, though.

I support Obamacare and thought the joke was funny. I was one of the two million that got dropped , but that was the biggest favor they ever did. I now have a policy has more coverage, including full dental, which is normally expensive on it's on, and I pay a lower premium. So, my friends on the left shouldn't get upset by the joke, all awards shows mock something that is going on in the news, and with the website failure, it was just ripe for the picking. Really it just boils down to ignoring people on the right, a great many of them don't even understand Obamacare, therefore they fear it, and that leads to disliking it. It's there problem, and eventually they will have to put on their big boy britches and live with it because it's law, and the fantasy of repealing it is just that...a fantasy. I guess what I'm trying to say here...my fellow obamacare supporters, the loud mouths aren't worth you effort...you know it's good..they just refuse to read and understand it. They just just listen to Fox and go with what they say. Ignore them.

this was brilliant.  You would never see anything like that on the Oscars or Emmys, because the Hollywood Limo Liberals are too far but Obama's arse - but the are a bunch of hypocrites.  Hollywood is as white and male as any Republican convention.  Just look at the Emmy award show.   Carrie and Brad are clearly more tapped into how the rest of the country is feeling than most celebrities today.  Also, you don't have to be a Rebublican to know that Obamacare is a failure.  Bush, Palin, McCain, etc have all been mocked and made fun of on tv and in movies, now it's Obama's turn.

Affordable Health Care Act is the funniest name they could have given this..... it's anything but that. The less fortunate didn't have health insurance before because "it was to expensive" now everyone pays more and you get fined if you don't have it.

ok. the title said 'riped obama care apart' and so i assumed that there would actually be a witty argument against the federal program. but this obviously isn't that. darn misleading titles!

ooi it's just humor. Bush had to take aplenty, sure Obama can take some. And in truth the terrible rollout of Obamacare totally deserved this dissing. Bill Maher, Stewart, Colbert, they all dissed it.

Liberal cowards cant take it when their Messiah, Obama, is brought to light how much of a corrupt liar he is....Im surprised this got into the mainstream media, amazing, usually liberals and Obama's people get it stopped before hand.

What's sad is that the less affluent rednecky segment that makes up the bulk of country music fans are the same ones who make up a huge share of the uninsured.  The older version of them ride around on Medicare-provided Hoverounds denouncing Obamacare.  True suckers.

Has anyone stopped babbling to think about the fact that none of the skits were written by the two of them. Sense of humor folks, you can bash Miley but some good fun poking at a real problem and you get your panties in a twist? If you don't like country music, why were you watching to begin with. Lighten up folks and direct some of that energy into a solution and not a bunch of tirades with no meaning

You gotta love the little sensitive lefties on here getting all bent out of shape about this.  Does anyone really believe ObamaCare is untouchable and is off the table for jokes?  Do any of these people watch SNL, or the Golden Globes?  I guess if libs didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any at all.

Paisley and Underwood should be very careful. I'm sure by now Valerie Jarrett  has called Eric Holder  to authorize  wiretaps on their phones and and then called the IRS folks to audit their tax returns for the next 10 years. After they they find  (I mean plant ) some questionable earnings, the two will spend the rest of their days in prison. All because they spoke out against the king.

Anna888

Yeah, sure, it's easy for them to laugh; THEY can AFFORD to pay out of pocket for any illness that befalls them. Unfortunately, most of us need the Affordable Healthcare so the insurance companies won't eat us alive....

MarkPeaceThomas

Sense of humor, folks... The "Affordable Health Care Act" is a sloppy law and the fact that the government let a company go "live' on the web without being ready is reason enough to make fun of the folly. Any business person would have never launched a site that does not work.

@tennwoman Rude?  How?

Musicians have been singing about political issues since the days of the minstrel... and probably longer than that.  I bet you are just fine with all the war protest songs from the 60s right?

Well, liberals only appreciate free speech when they are hearing what they want to hear and saying what they think everyone else should hear.  It's unfortunate that you suck so badly at life.

@timnorrismis No, but it's still fun to take cheap shots at you a$$holes.  It's not as if there hasn't been concerted effort to sabotage the ACA from the git go.  Bottom line.  I've never liked that barely talented twat Carrie Underwood and I'll never buy another Brad Paisley cd again and I used to like him.

@Anna888 Have you looked on the website yet?  Did you find that it is 'affordable?'  Obamacare is directly responsible for driving up premiums by an average of 41%.  The law of liberalism is that the outcome is always directly opposite of the stated intent.

Tishijo
Tishijo

@Pundit_Pete  Obama is the President, not a candidate for the office. His base is working hard at this moment to replace the present obstructionist majority in the House. If these country music fans cannot tell the difference between the web site which is only a tool to apply for affordable health care, and the benefits of the actual law, Obamacare, then Lord help them if they are too dumb to vote for their own best interests.

brucelanc

@Un_Lys @BazookaJoe Well... maybe.  I would guess the lawyers are pretty geared up regarding the fact he waged war in Libya without congressional approval and that he ordered the assasinations of some US citizens including the teenaged son of al-Awlaki who has never been accused of any action against the US nor accused of ever being on let alone participating on any battle field.  If republicans gain 3 or 4 seats in the Senate, I think we can rest assured that Obama will be impeached for those crimes....  Of course, the words "President Joe Biden" might be enough to frighten most in to pressuring the Senate to continue to ignore those crimes.

lovism

@brucelanc @tennwoman no dude, you speak for yourself. We can certainly laugh at ourselves and admit mistakes. The rollout of Obamacare sucked to the core, and Obama himself is pissed and said sorry. Since when do you ever hear your beloved Ted or Palin or Bachman admit they're wrong on something?

@barneydidit @timnorrismis Take a math class.  Learn what the word "Trillion" actually represents.  Then realize that our nation of ~320 million people owes 17 of those trillions and is paying 20 billion a month on interest alone.  Then figure out that the unfunded liabilities of the entitlement programs surpass that 17 Trillion to the tune of tripping it.  -  Without the unfunded liabilities, every man, woman, and child in these United States currently owes $54,000.  Keeping all of the unfunded liabilities, every single man woman and child in these United States currently owes no less than $217,000.  --  So, Barney, are you ready to write a check for you, your spouse, and each of your children?  Are you ready to cough up the cash so you don't leave this debt to the next generation or even the next 10 generations?  Are you ready to write another check for each of the people you know in this country who don't have that kind of money?

The debt *is* out of control.  The Federal Govt took in ~ 3 Trillion dollars in revenue this year... and they've already spent about 4 Trillion.  This year, we have increased the national debt to the tune of 2.62 Billion dollars per day...  did you read that?  Per Day.  2.62 Billion every single day this year was spent beyond revenue.  Good job Democrats.  Keep sucking dry every single possible resource that future generations might have just to fulfill your selfish and hedonistic desires!

@Tishijo @Pundit_Pete You have to  be serious.  I worked for a major company for 30 years and have been retired for 10.  During those 40 years I had the best healthcare, medical, hospital, drugs, glasses, and dental. I received a letter telling me that I have been dropped and placed into an exchange, after 40 years. 110,000 people, retirees, 110,000 people who worked their lives to get the benefits that a pathological liar took away. Those "obstructionist" as you call them have tried to save us from this jerk. I have talked to several doctors and unless you have been their patients they will except the exchange.  They are not going to take any new patients. A real good friend of mine, a doctor, retired, because of age, no because of this jerk. How can you say Obama care has saved lives? The damn thing isn't even in full production yet.  There are going to be more Supreme Court cases coming.  The Supremes only ruled one  small part.  They cannot rule on any law or a partial part of a law until it is in effect.  Obama has been using Executive Orders which is unconstitutional. Any changes must go back to the congress to change any law.

count1
count1

@Tishijo @Pundit_Pete You can't be serious.  I worked for a major company for 30 years, now in retirement.  Guess what kind of letter I received? That is right my insurance has been put into and exchange 30 years working + 10 years in retirement = 40 years of great insurance.

When all the letters were sent out 110,000 retirees lost their insurance.  That's right 110,000 from one company!  I have spoken to several friends that are doctors. They are going to keep their PRESENT patients that go into an exchange but will not accept any new ones in an exchange.  A major national Hospital has said that they are going to accept only ONE insurance under an exchange.

Some states are only offering one company for an exchange.  My wife and I are in our 60's I don't think we need the contraceptives under the Obama Care.

Obama Care is a law on paper. He has change the law by executive orders which is not constitutional.  There will be more challenges in the US Supreme Court.  The Court only ruled on one part of the law. There are suits starting up all over the place.  The Court cannot rule on any law or part of a law until it is implemented.

@Tishijo @Pundit_Pete @Tishijo..would you like to explain to me how this forced medical coverage benefits me?I have spent TOPS $200 in fifteen years on doctor visits.I will now have to spend min.$400.PER MONTH,aprox.$4000.deduct. PER YEAR with a 60% coverage of hosp.If I wanted insurance I would have found a way to buy it...ON MY OWN!!!You,and the o-bots like you are supporting forcing an american to buy something they DO..NOT..WANT!!!And if i have the nerve to refuse I will be fined! That's ok with you? I already contribute to the illegal population with my taxes.I already contribute to the needy with my donations. How much more of MY money are YOU willing to take.I say YOU because judging from your post you  are lock step in support of this shake-down.And,if this doesn't scarre the hell out of you,Obamacare, then LORD help you and YOUR ilk if you are too dumb to vote against this.

@brucelanc @barneydidit @timnorrismis We might be able to do something about our massive debt if Dems and Reps could actually push legistration through quickly, but it takes forever for them to decide on anything so we probably won't start attacking the debt adequately for another decade or so. Not really anyone specifics fault, its just how American politics work.  I like to liken it to two rivals locked in bitter combat only stopping long enough to eat, sleep, and fight off the occasional common enemy with varying degrees of efficiency.

@count1 @barneydidit @flatspin56 All presidents, prime ministers, etc are the equivalent of a monarchs.  I love how you imbred Jeds think you've accomplished a "gotcha moment."  You just don't get that a majority of Americans think guys like you are idiots and the reason you guys have to scream and shout and act crazy is because that's the only way you can get anyone to listen to you.

Anna888
Anna888

@GeeMarie @Tishijo @Pundit_Pete Gee Marie, if you are lucky enough to pay only $200 for doctors visits in 15 years (which I seriously doubt, because that's the  cost of ONE doctor's visit if you don't have insurance, and if you have insurance your costs in 15 years would be much, much, much higher,) then great for you!

But I have bad news for you -  you're getting older.  If you're not a Superman, you will get sick one day. Gosh, you might have an accident. People have been a bit careless with guns in the U.S. recently. So better lock that health insurance rate in a hurry, so you won't be paying outrages rates when you're sick or injured and unable to work. Unless, of course, you prefer then to suck the money off the federal government, by getting Medicaid, the way MacDonald's is doing by not giving their employees health insurance and encouraging them to apply for Medicaid, which is funded by our taxes.
