How I Met Your Mother

How I Met Your Mother is rolling out all the stops for its ninth and final season and since they’ve already done a musical episode, that leaves one thing: Rhyming.

“We just shot an episode where the entire thing is in rhyme. And it was so much fun,” Cobie Smulders, who plays Robin Scherbatsky on the show, told E! News. “It’s like every second line is a rhyme. It varies; you gotta watch it!”

The forthcoming quirky episode comes in the middle of an already strange season where all the action takes place over one 56-hour weekend, presumably culminating in Ted (Josh Radnor) finally meeting his future wife (the titular Mother) at the wedding of Robin and Barney.

Smulders didn’t say when the rhyme-filled episode will hit the airwaves, but she told E! News that she thinks, “the writers just nailed it.” Smulders continued, “It’s so fun and they just made it so funny, but so lyrical at the same time.”

Fans will have to wait to watch the episode, but considering loyal followers have held on for nine seasons trying to find out who the mother is, they should be used to it by now. Plus they have the Monday, Nov. 11 episode featuring the return of Bryan Cranston to keep them occupied.

How I Met Your Mother airs on Monday nights on CBS. A spinoff show titled How I Met Your Father with a new cast is said to be in the works.
