Kanye: Kim Should Have Gotten Vogue Cover, Not Michelle Obama

West reignites the Kimye-First Family feud

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West during Paris Fashion Week in July 2012.

Life is really unfair for Kanye West and Kim Kardashian—or so says the rapper who thinks his fiancée should have been on the cover of Vogue in place of First Lady Michelle Obama.

“There’s no way Kim Kardashian shouldn’t be on the cover of Vogue,” West told Ryan Seacrest in an interview on Tuesday.
“She’s like the most intriguing woman right now. She’s got Barbara Walters calling her like everyday.”

He added that he and Kardashian are “the most influential” couple in fashion, especially compared to the first couple. “No one is looking at what Obama is wearing,” he said. “[And] Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day.” Said Instagram was a revealing photo of Kardashian in a swimsuit that wouldn’t be too appropriate for the first lady to shoot. (The first lady doesn’t post selfies on her Instagram, just pictures of her making the world a better place.)

Seems like just a crazy Kanye West comment, right? Actually, Kanye and Obama have beef. Let’s take a quick look back:

Before a CNBC interview, Obama called Kanye a “jackass” in an off-the-record comment about Kanye taking Taylor Swift’s award away from her at the VMA’s in 2009. TMZ acquired the audio and published it. Kanye replied in an on-stage rant against the president.

Then Obama said in an interview this year that celebrities have skewed the American dream, and pointed out Kimye as his prime example: “Were there things that all of us might have liked to have [when we were growing up]? Sure. But partly, I think, there also has been a shift in culture. We weren’t exposed to things we didn’t have in the same way kids these days are. There was not that window into the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Kids weren’t monitoring every day what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.”

In the Kimye-First Family feud, I think we know who’s going to win. Yeah, sure, the Lana Del Rey-serenaded engagement was cool. But, I mean, who can beat the Obama fist bump?

This is crazy.  I consider myself a business woman and I love fashion.  If I see a magazine cover with the first lady on it, I would pick it up before picking up a magazine with Kim on it.  If you look at the history of the two women, who really worked hard to get to where they are now?  The First Lady used her brain rather than her body to get to where she is.  Personally, I would rather make it to the top using my intellect and not my body.

The title of the article really misconstrues what Kanye West said, and could even be implying by the quotations used from the interview within the article. In a time when most readers look at headlines and move on, why not give an objective view of a scenario that tells what the article is actually about, rather than use catchy articles with no real factual basis in the claim and outright insinuation that they make.

The current title assumes that what Kanye said was in some way meant to be offensive, or a slide to Mrs. Obama, rather than a objective point used to put forward his OPINION of why Kim Kardashian should be on the cover of Vogue. He makes a comparison with another woman who was preciously the cover of a high profile fashion magazine who has never worked/related in fashion in any serious way besides people paying attention to how elegant Mrs. Obama looked when she publicly appeared. Under the conditions that cover models for what could be considered the epitome of high fashion magazines have preciously included people for their popularity and public appeal rather than solely fashion, Kim Kardishian should obviously be on a Vogue cover, sometime.

Kanye and Kim should both be locked inside a cage with a pack of hungry African wild dogs during the super bowl halftime show, please God make that happen, the world will rejoice.

I just want to point out one more thing. Both Kim K. and FLOTUS are business women. But you see who Beyonce has tried to collaborate with on business adventures and who she has NOT done so with? C'mon, dude, who do you think Beyonce has more access to? And she STILL isn't rocking with Kim. I get that he loves his lady, but comparing her to FLOTUS. Carry on.

SMH There is a big difference between "ogle" and "admire." Men ogle Kim Kardashian's BUTT. Men and women respect and admire FLOTUS fashion choices. I don't think Kanye got the memo but video chicks post photos of their butts everyday. Kim K. got no more shine than say a Nicki Minaj twerking dance would get. And five minutes later, people STILL would rather hear FLOTUS speak. Anybody who would rather sit down and talk to Kim Kardashian over Michelle Obama is someone I never EVER want to meet.

K and K are not only nobodies but they lead the pack in the American cultural race to the bottom.

Obama and Kanye are incomparable, please! Kanye is some confused child, guess he grows up some day. Am not a fan of Kim but  Kanye is a no good for Kim; ever since you started running Kim's life her wardrobe has become a pack of rags!

It is clear Kanye West has some mental issues. Maybe he will rap about it in a song. Do he suppose to be upset with the Obamas cause the President said he didn't  want his daughters watching Kim's show. Well Kanye I don't want my daughters watching Kim's show either. She is not a role model for young women or old women. I don't mean to come down on Kim because it was her idiot boyfriend who made the comment,

@YagerMicah unfortunately for Kim, Vogue has a policy not to put "reality tv" people on the cover of their magazine, and instead people with a talent. She has no talent, unless you consider making a really crappy sex tape, and getting pissed on "talent". I realize that Kayne thinks his "baby momma" actually has a talent because it is his girl, but she really doesn't. So, she will have to stay on the cover of the weekly tabloids until she develops a talent, or until she completes her attempted morph into Beyonce.

@Ogechi Kanye wins how.  I don't hate Kim, but if I want a role model for my daughters it would not be Kim. And if Kanye think Kim deserve to be on Vogue then then get her on Vogue. Leave First Lady Michelle out of it.

@Ogechi This is true, but only on Twitter. In the real world where nutrition, fitness, fashion style (with your clothes on and no need to show your ass or porn videos) and to any woman who wants some self-respect, FLOTUS is annihilating that girl.
