Charmed, a 1990s hit about three witch sisters who use their powers for good, may be returning to television. CBS has ordered a pilot script that “re-imagines” the original Aaron Spelling-produced drama series, sources told Vulture.
Charmed was one of the first popular fantasy series on TV, airing years before True Blood, Once Upon a Time, or American Horror Story: Coven ever mined the magical and horror worlds for material. The show starring Alyssa Milano, Rose McGowan and Holly Marie Combs ran on the now-defunct WB network for eight seasons. And a report last year found that Charmed was the second-most binge-watched series on Netflix (behind Prison Break but ahead of That ’70s Show).
