A funeral staged Saturday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for Walter White, the fictional drug kingpin on the TV show Breaking Bad, raised almost $17,000 for the charity Healthcare for the Homeless.

However, some people were irked by the memorial to White, a high school chemistry teacher turned founder of a methamphetamine empire, reports an Albuquerque TV station.

After “mourners” tossed dirt on an empty coffin, it was laid in an actual grave and given a headstone. That bothered some people who have family buried nearby, with one person telling the TV station the site shouldn’t be a “spectacle.”

A planned YouTube livestream of the funeral also was blocked on copyright grounds.
