Alice Munro, winner of this year’s Nobel Prize in Literature, will not travel to Stockholm to receive the award in person because she is too ill.

The 82-year old short story writer told the Swedish Academy she couldn’t make the trip from Canada to Stockholm to accept the honor, but it’s not yet clear who will be representing her at the Dec. 10 ceremony, CBC news reports.

The Academy called Munro a “master of the contemporary short story” when it announced the winner of the $1.2 million prize.
