Eminem’s New ‘Rap God’ is Divine

Second single for forthcoming album released October 15

“I’m beginning to feel like a Rap God / All my people from the front to the back nod” spits Eminem in his trademark staccato flow.

“Rap God,” his new single, is the second track to be taken from his highly anticipated album Marshall Mathers LP2, which features production from and appearances by Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar among others, and will be released on November 5.

If “Rap God” and his first single “Berzerk” are anything to go by, the world can expect an immortal recording.

This song has such offensive homophobic lyrics -  I'm shocked they weren't mentioned...

Lyrical fire but do it live...lots of beat breaks and pauses will happen. Rapid fire rap is OK but I miss the slim...OLD SKOOL.! Don't worry about the speed or "attack". EM is one of the only rappers I will always go back to but this seem brilliant and pushy at the same time..like a horny ex-wife you cant kick out of bed. It is good now but was better before.

Amazing to me that even today TIME can call this guy "divine" while ignoring the homophobia and hate he spews.. One has to wonder if a southern white crooner sang about black people in a hateful, racist way would they call them divine as well?

This is actually the third song released by Eminem. Eminem debuted Survival before he debuted Berzerk.

Quintessential Eminem at his best. No singing, no watered down lyrics. Just amazing lyrical ability. Wait until TIME realizes how anti gay the song is. I bet you this article comes down real quick. For the TIME being, though, at least they told the truth.

The firs three to four minutes were impressive then it just became long and drawn out.

@AlisonEGurr  get over it, Eminem is amazing and rap god shows that he still got it. He't not homophobic. Grab a kleenex and cry in the corner you whiney little c**t!!!

@RobertoOliveira Because it ain't homophobic. Em doesn't hate homossexuals nor do the lyrics imply that.

He is simply using slangs and common street offense on a song. That, by no means, makes the lyrics homophobic.

Just get over it, people should stop caring so much about so little. Focus on the amount of effort and talent he put into the song and on how amazing it sounds. As did the guy who wrote this.

@truckproductions He has come out and said he has no problem with homosexuals. You can dislike him for his lyrics, but you cannot deny his talent.

@mwells909 @Mr.357 @Ricochet420 lol..let me guess...you're one those guys who thinks they know everything about hiphop/rap...or you're a stan...or both right?  This beat gets quite annoying at the 4 minute mark...and the last thing I want to hear form eminem, is him rapping about rapping...over a beat that sounds like it was produced from a droid cell phone and a casio piano.  If you get a kick out of listening to six minutes of a song that is predominately lyrics about lyrics then feel free.  Eminem is capable of much more substance accompanied with real lyricism...this frankly doesn't measure up to his full potential.

@Mr.357 @Ricochet420

I would have to agree to Ricochet420, unfortunately common sense isn't so common anymore. Continue listening to Miley Cyrus.
