The hard-working and immensely popular actress will reunite with Gary Ross (who directed the first Hunger Games movie) in two upcoming movies: East of Eden, the latest big-scree version of the John Steinbeck novel, and Burial Rites, adapted from a Hannah Kent novel, as first reported by Deadline.
East of Eden focuses on the Steinbeck creation of two brothers and their interplay with the rest of the family, which may give a little less weight to the Lawrence role, especially since the original remake of the book put James Dean in the pivotal actor. But Lawrence will go center-stage in Burial Rites, playing a wrongfully accused Irish murderer in a period piece set in the 1800s.
Lawrence continues to go well beyond Panem with her role in the new Dumb and Dumber To. As she tells Jimmy Fallon, she’s a massive fan of the original comedy and knows every line of the movie. She reportedly took off days from Hunger Games shoots to film her Dumb and Dumber To character.
