It had all the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster: the money, the heist and… the maple syrup?

Sony Pictures will make a film, starring actor Jason Segel, based on Canada’s Great Maple Syrup Caper, Deadline reports. Sony Pictures confirmed the new movie to TIME on Thursday.

In that famous caper, between 2011 and 2012, a maple syrup cartel siphoned off 6 million gallons, or about $18 million, of the sugary liquid in Quebec.

Seth Gordon will direct the comedic film, and Family Guy’s Chris Sheridan is expected to write the script.
