Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk)

Good news for Breaking Bad fans mourning the show’s rapidly approaching conclusion on Sept. 29: AMC just greenlit the long-rumored spinoff starring sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk). According to Deadline, the cable network and Breaking Bad producer Sony Pictures TV have reached a deal to licensee the new series, tentatively titled Better Call Saul.

The brainchild of Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and series writer-producer Peter Gould (who penned the Breaking Bad episode in which Odenkirk’s morally bankrupt criminal attorney initially appeared), Better Call Saul will be a prequel that explores Goodman’s experiences before he met Walter White (Bryan Cranston).

Further details about the project are scarce, but the new series is expected to be another hour-long drama, albeit with a somewhat lighter tone than its predecessor. No word yet on whether it will feature any other characters from the Breaking Bad universe, such as Goodman’s bodyguard Huell (Lavell Crawford) and associate Kuby (Bill Burr).

You may be in luck Bones, because I've already heard that the show will be a prequel to BB. Apparently the evolution of Saul so to speak. And that works out for us because we have no clue as to Saul's fate.

If only Mike was here, then it would be perfect.
