Singer Aaron Carter was allegedly jumped by fans of New Kids on the Block, the rivals of his big brother Nick Carter’s boy band Backstreet Boys.
The “Jump Jump” singer posted this photo to his Instagram account this morning:
According to TMZ, the 25-year-old singer, who is currently on his After Party tour, was in Boston for a show when he was approached by four men, one of whom yelled, “I heard you’re doing a show here tomorrow. This is the town of the New Kids.” The grown men were apparently unhappy to have someone even tangentially related to NKOTB’s rival boy band on their turf and then proceeded to rumble in the streets until, according to Carter, taking off in their gold Chevy Malibu.

Carter claims to have held his own in the brawl, his injuries notwithstanding, telling TMZ, “I think my knuckles might be broken, but that’s what they get. People think I’m a pretty little white boy but no way. I think I won. I’m still standing.” He also noted on Twitter that he has a sixth degree black belt in Muay Thai, although it didn’t seem to help much in his scuffle against the four men.
The socially active Carter also jokingly tweeted at Jordan Knight, one of the members of New Kids on the Block:

While Boston is indeed the birthplace of the New Kids on the Block with apparently a still active and rabid fanbase, Carter noted on Twitter that Knight is a friend, and Carter does not blame the New Kids for his assailants’ behavior and, in fact, doubts that the men were fans of the “Hangin’ Tough” singers.
Aaron also assured fans that he would take the stage as planned Sunday evening and that he’s not filing a police report because it’s “girlie.” Hangin’ tough, indeed.
