Most couples are pleased when a celebrity crashes their wedding, but that wasn’t the case when Conor Kennedy brought his then-girlfriend Taylor Swift to his cousin Kyle Kennedy’s nuptials. “They texted me an hour before the wedding and asked if they could come,” the mother of the bride, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, told the Boston Herald. “I responded with a very clear, ‘Please do not come.’ They came anyway.” Swift’s publicist denied that the singer was an unwelcome guest, but Kathie Lee Gifford, Kyle Kennedy’s step-grandmother, backed up the Kennedy family’s account. As Gifford’s Today co-host Hoda Kotb explained, “When Taylor Swift walks into your wedding, she gets all the attention and you’re chopped liver.”
