The new trailer for 'Star Trek Into Darkness' is full of explosion-y fun

Unveiled this weekend, before showings of Oz the Great and Powerful, is this second trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness. The 77-second clip is short on plot details, but long on expertly cut action: we see running and jumping and whooshing and shouting  and falling and even a big fish. And explosions. Lotsa explosions.

We get only a few moments of them together, but Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, we’re glad to see, are taking the Kirk-Spock relationship into places new and interesting. We’ll say it again: great casting.

The movie opens May 17.

I have always been a Trekie and so many more Black African Americans are also and they would love to see these movie, yet we are so tired of this Zoe Saldanal. Why does she keep going after all these Black African American women positions, she is not black. On top of it she makes it her business to more than enforce the statement that she is not black, then why does she keep going after their roles?  Just as she did with the Nina Simon role.  With her casting herself in these roles she is eliminating Black African Americans the chance to play in their own roles and eliminating them from employment, she needs to step aside and play her own ethnicity and allow the real Black African American female to play these roles.  Unfortunately she will again cause the African American Society to also boycott this movie as they did with her playing the role of Nina Simon.  The first Star Trek movie many Black African Americans did not attended it and I am sure the same will apply here.

@TIME @TIMECulture The title is, very decidedly and purposefully, Star Trek Into Darkness (with no colon). =)
