The Milk Carton Kids, one of the bands singled out by TIME after last year’s South by Southwest festival as the best in the bunch, have released a new music video starring actress Amanda Seyfried—and you can see it first here, on TIME.com.

The video, for “Honey, Honey,” is part of a trilogy of tunes from the folky pair, Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale. Along with the clips for the tracks “Snake Eyes” and “The Ash & Clay,” the three videos—directed by Julian T. Pinder—comprise one single shot. That’s one shot for the three together, Ryan points out. All three are scenes of different people listening to music while driving in a car, meant to represent people from all walks of life (including, apparently, movie stars).
Not much is happening on the surface of the videos, but Ryan says that’s the point: “We thought it was interesting to show what listening to music looks like. Which it turns out, if you’re driving in a car, is nothing,” he says. “You’re having this very personal, emotional, visceral experience but if someone took a video of you for those three minutes it couldn’t look like more of the opposite. It looks like nothing’s happening when really everything in the world is happening at that moment.”
The Milk Carton Kids will appear at South by Southwest again this year and their next album, The Ash & Clay, is available Mar. 26—and you’ll be able to hear it here a week early, along with lots of other festival coverage.
