Morning News: Harrison Ford to Appear in Anchorman 2

Star Wars isn’t the only movie franchise generating talk of a Harrison Ford appearance: The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that the actor will play a Tom Brokaw type in the Anchorman sequel, Anchorman: The Legend Continues—the teaser for which is above, and which is due in theaters on Dec. 20 of this year. In addition to favorite comedians from the first Anchorman, like Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate, the movie also made news recently with the casting of Kristen Wiig.

The A.V. Club jokes that Ford’s character might be named Han Solo—but it’s more likely that Ford will be reprising his role as the real Star Wars pilot in the J.J. Abrams-directed Episode VII, a possibility that was reported last month but, despite the film showing up on Ford’s IMDb profile as a future project, has not been officially confirmed by the actor.
