Want to party like a President?

You may not know President Barack Obama’s stance on every issue, but at least now you can learn more about his stance on popular music. The Commander-in-Chief has released an “Official Inauguration Playlist” on Spotify for the big day on Jan. 21.

We’re not surprised to see that Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)” topped the list. The Grammy award-winning R&B artist performed the hit at the 2008 Democratic National Convention, and at one point, David Axelrod’s phone played the tune whenever Barack called. Wonder also composed an original song for the President’s re-election campaign in October called “Keep Moving Forward”.

The Inauguration Day jam session also features classics like Smokey Robinson’s “Get Ready” and James Taylor’s “Your Smiling Face.” And the President showed his Gleeky side by adding the FOX TV show’s rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Edge of Glory.” Maybe including John Legend’s “Ordinary People” is the President’s way of emphasizing his ability to relate to ordinary Americans, while Katy Perry’s “Firework” alludes to the recent fiery debate about the fiscal cliff.

But actually, these artists made the playlist because many of them will be performing at the inaugural balls.

The President kicked off his re-election campaign last year with a 28-track Spotify playlist, which had a more alternative/folk feel, between tracks like Noah and the Whale’s “Tonight’s the Kind of Night” and Florence + The Machine’s “You’ve Got the Love.” And hit up Obama’s Spotify channel if you want to listen to First Lady Michelle Obama’s workout mix (think “Whip My Hair” by Willow and “Get Right” by Jennifer Lopez).
