Hawaii Five-0 viewers will get to hear Jimi Hendrix’s train a-comin’ this month when the hit police drama features previously unreleased music from the legendary guitarist.

A special episode, airing Sunday, Jan. 20, will include a total of seven tracks recorded by the icon, The Wrap reports. All the songs will later be available on a new Jimi Hendrix album, People, Hell and Angels, which goes on sale March 5. The Hawaii Five-0 audience will get a taste of the following songs: “Bleeding Heart,” “Mojo Man,” “Hey Gypsy Boy,” “Inside Out,” “Crash Landing,” “Hear My Train A-Comin'” and “Somewhere.”

This musical gimmick is the second fun little flourish to draw attention to Hawaii Five-0 recently. The reboot of the original CBS drama also announced that on Jan. 14, it will give viewers a chance to “choose their own adventure” — that is, the chance to select one of three possible endings, as the episode is airing, using social media. This modern twist on the wildly popular Choose Your Own Adventure books of the 1980s and ’90s seems to appeal to audiences’ cravings for nostalgia — as does the nod to Hendrix.

But the Jan. 20 Jimi-infused episode is also likely to draw in a solid viewership simply due to when it will air. It’s been given a special 10 p.m. time slot, right after the AFC championship football game. Not quite post–Super Bowl status, but still a pretty coveted slot. Looks as if plenty of people will get experienced.
