With releases from My Bloody Valentine to Azealia Banks on the books, 2013 already looks like a stellar year for music

Good choice on the Neighbourhood's album “I love You” Stream some of the songs from it right now on rollingstone, here: http://smarturl.it/ILoveYouPremiere
Black Mattic album titled "Black Label" is a good album to look out for, I believe it releases on May 7
Noteworthy omission: the best album of 2013 will be Pedestrian Verse by Scottish indie-rockers Frightened Rabbit. I'm calling it right now. This band has everything going for it--musicianship, lyrics, unique vocals. We tasted a bit of the album on their "State Hospital EP" this year--superb on every level. It is a tragedy that they have not exploded into the ranks of the greatest bands of all time yet. Perhaps there's just a bit too much explicit language & too thick of an accent. SO AMAZING!!!
You should definitely check out Misha Lyuve's album ARE WE READY - coming out on January 18th http://mishalyuve.com/music
who wrote this list??? Arcade Fire is the only one of these bands I have even heard up much less am interested in possible hearing. Weird list.
Great list! Not sure how I feel about James Murphy producing the new Arcade Fire album, though. I've always thought LCD Soundsystem was a bit gimmicky.
What a crock of payola... Let me guess, this is about half a dozen A&R/publicist "favorites" distributed through Time Warner + some acts no one even remembers (Tegan and Sara?) or whose recent doings barely qualify as news (MBV have been teasing another album, Axl Rose-style, for about 20 years now). What a shoddy, corporate, uninteresting list
so mainstream hipster bs? this list is based on bands with perceptions and not talent.
I could not see anyone making a list worst than this one. I'm reading this and I say to myself "....really...?" Half of this is crap from the 90's that should be left in the 90's. You have a list of "good music comming out in 2013" and you have Arcade Fire on there.... kind of a contradiction. Why weren't The Black Keys mentioned? One of the best bands out there, another one is Wolfmother - a million times better than any band on this list. If anyone listens to any of this stuff mentioned on the list, i'm almost willing to bet they live in an appartment by themselves with at least four cats.
@PaulBagley Sorry, but if you can't get into Arcade Fire you've just got mediocre taste in music.
the keys are a watered down band filtering blues though Nirvanna . Black Crowes have album coming out
you're entitled to your opinion but unfortunantly you're wrong. Listen to any of the Black Keys early stuff. They've always been amazing. Playing little bars and rocking the shit out of the place leaving people blown away.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81h0F-14QA0 check that out, it was before anyone knew who they were.
I'm sorry but this list is terrible. How can any writer proclaim these albums as "most anticipated" if factual statistics would indicate most people have never heard of a majority of the bands on the list. Whatever hipster Time magazine unfortunately paid to write this crap should really do some homework as opposed to flipping through their personal iPod.
Waste of an article, there are real writers and journalists who could use a job I'm sure.
Decent list here, but disappointed that Jose James' "No Beginning No End" isn't included. Major oversight.
Some good tracks in that list. I'm personally psyched for On an On's album "Give In." Comes out January 29th. Found their singles "Ghosts" and "The Hunter" on Spotify. Awesome stuff.
As a pro musician for 35 years, the vocals on most of this stuff is horrible. Guess you don't have to be good to be anticipated.
charli xcx's first mixtape was Super Girls, Super Love released in 2008. M.I.A.'s first mixtape was Piracy Funds Terrorism released in 2004, produced by diplo.
I have a really good recommendation of a website I just found called Traders Superstore, just do a search for them he should be able to find them. I recommend these guys because there course material is top-notch and their support is the best I've ever seen on the Internet. These guys take seriously teaching people how to trade and I'm very happy to recommend them to anyone interested in learning to trade for themselves, it really is a very lucrative business.
I have a big crush on Sky Ferreira. I've listened to her since her fist song I heard which was "17" two years ago. If you haven't listened to "Sad Dream" yet, do so.
