In the weirdest pairing since, well, the previous duet on the list, Rod Stewart and Cee-Lo team up for a blue-eyed soul meets neo-soul version of “Merry Christmas, Baby.” The singers trade verses in a pop-influenced rendition of the R&B classic, with backing from New Orleans jazz virtuoso Trombone Shorty. And although Stewart recently said he’s “always been tempted to do a Christmas album,” we bet he never imagined it would help make him the largest-selling musician on the Home Shopping Network. Both Stewart and Cee-Lo feature the song on their 2012 holiday albums, although we’re assuming the rest of their track lists vary greatly. And while there’s no music video yet, we can only hope.
