Excited for the next Star Trek movie? Then it’s your lucky day—but also a frustrating one. The teaser for the Star Trek Into Darkness trailer hit the web today, but fans will have to wait another few weeks, till Dec. 17, for the full-length trailer.
Still, the minute-long clip doesn’t disappoint. In director J.J. Abrams’ follow-up to his 2009 Star Trek, Chris Pine returns as Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Simon Pegg as Scotty and John Cho as Sulu—and Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain, rumored to be Khan, is introduced in a scary revenge monologue. There’s also an interesting hint that the movie will at least partially take place on a planet that may well be our own. Plus, there’s lava.
The real mystery, however, remains: why is there no punctuation in the movie’s title?
Star Trek Into Darkness is in theaters May 17, 2013.
