If you are bummed that Baz Luhrmann’s 3-D film adaption of the F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic The Great Gatsby has been pushed back from Christmas Day to May 2013, then exciting news about its soundtrack will cheer you up. Lady Gaga and Prince may be writing songs for the film, according to one star who spilled the beans to Indiewire.(WATCH: Movie Trailer: The Great Gatsby)

Actress Adelaide Clemens, who will play Myrtle Wilson’s sister Catherine in the movie, told the music website:

“They have some new music that’s going to be added to the film,” Clemens said. “Some pretty huge artists have approached Baz and are writing songs for the film, and I don’t think Warner Bros. are going to turn down Prince and Lady Gaga knocking down your door … I don’t know if I’m allowed to say that.”

Many of Baz Luhrmann’s flicks have star-studded soundtracks. Romeo + Juliet (1996) boasted tunes by Radiohead, Everclear, and Garbage, and Australia (2009) included the original Elton John song “The Drover’s Ballad.” The most memorable soundtrack, however, is probably Moulin Rouge (2001), featuring Bono, Beck, Fat Slim, Rufus Wainwright, David Bowie and Christina Aguilera — sorry if her remix of “Lady Marmalade” is now stuck in your head.

We knew there would be some pop/R&B songs in The Great Gatsby when the trailer featured a Jack White cover of U2’s “Love is Blindness” and Kanye West and Jay-Z’s “No Church in the Wild” from their album Watch The Throne, TIME Entertainment reported in May. Vulture points out that this motion picture soundtrack would not be Prince’s first: he wrote the hit “Batdance” for Tim Burton’s Batman (1989).

Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby will also star Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire, Isla Fischer and Joel Edgerton.
