Turns out Lindsay Lohan is not the self-deprecating type. To avoid filming a scene in Scary Movie 5 that makes fun of her recent encounters with the law — and includes a kiss with Charlie Sheen — the actress made headlines this week when she told producers that she had “walking pneumonia.” But a source revealed to The New York Post that “she’d been freaking out about [the scene] for weeks.” She finally showed up to the set — via private plane — after the studio threatened her with a lawsuit.
Lohan has a history of coming up with epic excuses. In May 2010, she tried avoiding going to her DUI progress report hearing by claiming that her passport had been stolen during a trip to Cannes, France. When the judge saw a photo of the celebrity on a yacht in the French Riviera, a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
Lohan is not alone. From Jeremy Piven to Michael Jackson, we’ve rounded up the most outrageous celebrity excuses. Read on to see how other stars have tried to get out of some sticky situations.
