Programming Note: TCA, Here I Come

The Television Critics Association summer press tour in LA began over the weekend, two weeks of presentations, panel interviews, screenings and schmoozing with the makers and stars of new and returning fall TV shows. I salute my critic brethren who’ll be covering the whole thing; I’m flying out to join them today through the TCA Awards ceremony (which honors not TV critics but the best TV series and stars of the past year) on Saturday night. Which means my blogging will be off and on this week: off when I’m traveling or on various TCA activities and visits, on as I post the most interesting tidbits from the sessions I get to. (For my visit this year, that’ll span Fox, NBC, ABC and some of their various cable siblings including FX.)

You can also follow me on Twitter, where I will try to, but cannot promise to, refrain from tweeting pictures of every hamburger and taco I eat in L.A. Cue The O.C. theme, and I’ll let you know when my plane lands!

Does HBO not participate, or is their session just outside of your participation window?

The full tour is two weeks, I'm going for six days. HBO session is a few days after I leave.

Oh, noes!! You'll miss The Newsroom panel! Which I'd pay a big chunk of cash $ to be able to see.

I was thinking more about Game of Thrones.  But hearing the room hiss at Aaron Sorkin would be fun, too. I wonder if he'd try to cut off e.g. Mo Ryan with a "Quiet honey, Aaron is talking".
