Today, as we celebrate the 200th birthday of Charles Dickens by unveiling the final book in our Blogging the Dickens series, PBS has gone and unveiled a trailer for their upcoming Dickens miniseries, Great Expectations.

Now, we already have two very good screen adaptations of this novel, one of Dickens’ greatest — the 1946 David Lean film and the 1998 Alfonso Cuaron movie. And while it’s hard to focus on the pictures while that very modern song plays, its also difficult not to get excited for Gillian Anderson (who so wonderfully, frigidly, played Lady Dedlock in Bleak House) as Miss Havisham.
