Gustavo Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) suits up in season four of Breaking Bad.

More and more often, when I’m talking to someone about a TV show I follow–which I do a lot, because I am very boring and have little other frame of reference–they’ll say that they haven’t watched it yet, but are soon going to watch the entire season on DVD. Or, they’ll mention, they’re in the middle of watching Breaking Bad or The Wire all at once, binging on a whole series (or series to date) on DVD, Netflix or iTunes.

It’s to the point where if someone talks to me about Breaking Bad socially, I’ll stop myself and ask, :”What season are you at?” so as not to accidentally tell them [thing you wouldn’t want to know in advance that Walter White did in season four]. Don’t get me wrong; I’m a strong believer in a short spoiler statute of limitations, including for myself—if I wait to watch a show or see a movie, staying unspoiled is on me. But I also don’t want to get punched out for no good reason.

Anyway, I’ve been having a lot of these conversations with people who are planning to catch up with this or that show over the holidays, which—between time off, gift box sets and a lot of reruns on the air—appears to be prime time for binge watching. Frankly, if I didn’t have the job I do, I might watch more shows like this, because some very serial shows are better gobbled up at a stretch like this.

All of which is by way of asking you: what shows have you been, or are you planning to, binge-watch over this holiday week? I promise not to spoil anything—well, not in this comments section anyway.
